Before I get to today's topic, let me just mention two recent developments:
1) 36-D rocks
2) HDTV rocks
Last week we had our 17th week appointment. This thing is really starting to move along. All is well, heart rate is smack dab between the high and low thresholds of "normal". Next week we'll find out the sex. We're really looking forward to that moment. As much as we want to, it's tough to pick gender neutral decor and clothing. Even stuff like bibs and pacifiers are mostly either masculine or feminine.
Last week, we were confronted with an tough decision. Our obstetrician, who happens to be our neighbor invited us to her birthday party. K and I thought about this all week. At first, it seems innocent enough, right? She's nice, and probably make a good neighbor. But what kind of bday card to get for the person who's seem more of your wife's vagina than you. I honestly thought about making a card that made light of that fact. Eventually, we decided not to go. Partly because K felt a little uncomfortable, but also because I had some Scottrade stuff to do that lasted pretty late. We held our annual meeting where we discussed profits, revenues, marketing, competition, new initiatives, etc. The meeting was followed by an intimate Blues Travelers concert. Twas good times...

I had an acquaintance who teaches nursing beg to be allowed to deliver our baby today b/c it would be the 20th baby that she has delivered. Thanks, but no thanks. No friend or even passing acquaintance is going to get that up close and personal with my cootch-- not when I have to see that person on a regular basis outside of a doctor's office.
